How to apply

Who can apply

International students paying international fees who enter the first year of an undergraduate first degree and register for a 100% course load across the fall and winter semesters. Admission averages are converted automatically using World Education Services (WES) equivalency tables. Students who already hold a degree, and students aged 60 or over receiving a tuition exemption, are not eligible.

How to apply

No separate scholarship application is required — you are assessed automatically when you apply for admission. Mid-term grades indicate your tier and final marks confirm it, and the tier set on entry cannot be increased later. To renew, keep an average above 80% (LU GPA 7.5) and study full time (30 credits, at least 24 of them in the fall/winter term).

Contact the graduate studies or awards office at the Canadian university you are applying to, meet its internal nomination deadline, then submit your application through the agency's research portal by the October deadline.

Scholarships offered by Canadian Institutions

Entrance & merit awards

Most Canadian universities and colleges automatically consider you for entrance scholarships when you apply for admission — no separate form needed. These awards are merit-based, decided on your academic record, and usually appear with, or shortly after, your Letter of Acceptance.

External scholarships

Government & organizations

External awards come from government programs, private organizations, and foundations. They have their own eligibility rules, separate applications, and strict deadlines, so plan and prepare early.
