Review General Admission Requirements

A big part of understanding admission requirements is learning about the terminology Colleges/ Universities use.
At a glance: how admissions work (for international applicants)
-
Prerequisite courses: Each program lists required high-school (or equivalent) courses. Some universities also set minimum final grades in those courses.
-
Admission average: A major factor in decisions. It’s calculated from your senior-level results, and how many courses are counted depends on your education system.
-
Typical grade ranges: Schools publish ranges (e.g., mid-80s, 80–84%, low 90s) to show how competitive a program was last year.
-
Not a guarantee: These ranges change year to year based on program space, the number of applicants, and how strong their grades are.
